Getting Started
Morndale is an idle MMORPG where you build your character through automated training, gathering resources, crafting equipment, and exploring dungeons. The game progresses even when you're offline, making it perfect for players who want MMORPG depth without constant active gameplay.
Currently Morndale is still in closed alpha, open testing begins Feb 1st as I'm still preping a lot of content.
Yes! Morndale is completely free to play. We will introduce optional cosmetic items for user profiles, but all core gameplay features will always be free.
Morndale combines the depth of traditional MMORPGs with idle gameplay mechanics. You can progress your character, complete quests, and gather resources even when you're not actively playing. This makes it perfect for players with busy schedules who still want a rich gaming experience.
Monetization & Pay 2 Win
Morndale has both a premium membership of $4.99/monthly and costmetic microtransactions that can be used to style your user profile or guild emblem.
The battlepass is free with a premium version being included into the premium membership.
No, I'll never add pay 2 win features, Morndale was built from the start to be enjoyed by all.
Gameplay
When you start an activity (training, gathering, crafting), your character continues working on it automatically. You can check back later to collect resources, level up, and start new activities. The game tracks your progress even when you're offline.
Main activities include: Training skills (Mining, Woodcutting, Fishing, etc.), Gathering resources, Crafting equipment and consumables, Exploring dungeons, Completing quests, Trading at the auction house, and Managing your land. Players can form guilds with friends, and complete bosses as a group.
Your character continues working on any active tasks while you're offline. When you return, you'll collect the resources, experience, and rewards earned during your absence. This makes Morndale perfect for busy schedules!
Morndale is designed to be accessible from any device with a web browser. While we're optimizing the mobile experience, you can play on your phone or tablet through your browser. PLEASE NOTE: mobile has a lot of issues as this side of the game has been shelfed untill further progress is made on the desktop version.
Skills & Progression
Morndale features multiple skill categories including gathering skills (Mining, Woodcutting, Fishing, Gathering, and more!), crafting skills (Smelting, Blacksmithing, Cooking, Leatherworking, and more!), and combat skills that improve through dungeon exploration.
Currently, skills can be trained to high levels, with new content and challenges becoming available as you progress. We continuously add new content to keep the game engaging for both new and experienced players. Content currently tops out at level 99 however this will of course change over time.
Mining and Woodcutting are excellent starting skills as they provide basic resources needed for crafting. However, you can start with any skill that interests you - all paths are viable and interconnected.
Economy & Trading
The auction house lets you buy and sell items with other players. List items for sale at your chosen price, or browse listings to purchase items you need. The auction house is essential for trading rare materials and equipment. You can also view sale history to gauge fair prices.
Multiple approaches work: gathering high-level resources and selling them on the auction house, crafting valuable equipment, completing dungeons for loot, and flipping items on the market. Diversifying your income sources is usually most effective. Player property/land can also provide passive income.
Yes, there is a small listing fee and a percentage taken from successful sales. This helps regulate the economy and prevents market manipulation.
Currently, trading is done through the auction house system, which provides a safe and fair marketplace for all players.
Dungeons & Combat
Dungeons are exploration-based content where you encounter monsters, collect loot, and gain experience. Each dungeon has level requirements, and unique monsters. Success depends on your equipment, stats, and preparation. Dungeons can be explored solo or with a group.
Combat uses your equipment stats (attack, defense, health, and variety of equipment/player stats) against monster stats. The system calculates hit chances, damage, and outcomes on the fly in a tic style combat system. Better equipment and higher levels improve your success rate and survivability, while also allowing you and your group to clear dungeons faster.
Death in dungeons has consequences but isn't overly punishing. You'll respawn and may lose some progress in the dungeon, but you won't lose items or experience. It's an opportunity to improve your equipment and strategy.
Yes! You can create or join dungeon groups to tackle more difficult content together. Group play is scaled based on player equipment and levels.
Land & Workers
Land allows you to build structures that automate resource gathering. You can place buildings like mines, lumber mills, and fishing huts. This provides a steady income of materials while you focus on other activities.
Land slots can be unlocked using gold as you progress through the game. Each unlocked slot allows you to place an additional building for resource generation.
Buildings have storage limits, so you'll need to collect periodically to avoid waste. The frequency depends on your building levels. You can collect from all buildings at once for convenience.
Yes! Buildings can be upgraded to increase their storage capacity, gathering speed, and efficiency. Higher level buildings provide better returns on your investment.

We allow multiple account per person but to ensure fair gameplay for all players we do not allow scripting. I follow multiple accounts pretty heavily and will be doing my best to keep track of people abusing the system.
