Devblog 18 – Post‑Reset Progress & What’s Coming Next

Friday marked our second major reset, bringing a wave of new systems, fixes, and foundational features into Morndale. There’s still a mountain of work ahead, but the world is finally starting to take shape in the way I’ve envisioned.

This week’s focus is all about tightening screws: fixing lingering issues, polishing rough edges, and slowly layering in new content. My goal for the next few months is simple content, content, content. I want every system to feel deeper, more connected, and more meaningful as Morndale grows.


Guild Changes

Guild Bank

The old donation‑only system is gone. Guild members can now freely deposit and withdraw items to share resources with each other. Gold, however, cannot be withdrawn once deposited.

  • Base guild bank slots: 20
  • +10 slots per Guild Hall level
  • Storage Building adds an additional +50 slots

Custom Guild Roles & Permissions

Guild leaders can now create fully custom roles beyond the default Officer/Member setup, including custom rank colors.

The system uses a weight‑based hierarchy:

  • Officer = 50
  • Member = 10

Available permissions include:

  • Can Invite
  • Can Kick
  • Manage Bank
  • Start Boss
  • Withdraw Bank
  • Withdraw Daily Limit

Guild Bosses

By upgrading the Guild Hall and Portal Room, guilds unlock access to a roster of bosses. Each boss can be defeated once per reset with up to 10 guild members.

Only guild leaders or members with the Start Boss permission can initiate the encounter.

Boss Reset Times:
00:00 & 12:00 UTC
08:00 & 20:00 EST

Guild Hall Room Upgrades & Fixes

Leaders and officers can now upgrade individual buildings within the Guild Hall to unlock new bonuses. Limits have also been added to prevent stacking too many of the same building type.

Guild Region Control

Guilds now earn regional reputation by participating in world events and bosses. The controlling guild of a region will collect a tax on all item sales within that region.


Reward Chests

Reward chests are intended to drop randomly from skilling, monsters, and the Battle Pass. This system is still a work in progress drops are not active yet, but the framework is in place.


World Bosses & Events

World events and bosses now spawn around the capital cities, with more locations coming soon. For now, they reward:

  • XP
  • Gold
  • Guild Contribution

Map Updates

The map now displays active events across the world. Regions controlled by guilds will also show the guild’s icon above their respective locations.


Races & Classes

This is a system I’ve wanted to experiment with for a long time, so I’m keeping it simple for now while I build the foundation.

Available Races:

  • Dwarf
  • Elf
  • Human
  • Orc
  • Caprids (WiP)

Available Classes:

  • Warrior
  • Mage
  • Ranger
  • Rogue

Expect talent trees to shift a lot this month as I refine the system and begin adding more races and classes.


Battle Pass

The Battle Pass is currently disabled. A new version is being prepared and should be ready in the coming days.


Patches & Additions Since Reset

  • Talent tree now awards the correct points per player level
  • Membership subscriptions are functioning properly
  • World events now correctly award gold and XP
  • Event tokens added (shop coming later)
  • New admin tools for setting up and managing shopkeepers
  • New shopkeeper added to Oakshire: Farmer Bison
  • Smithing talent tree bonus is now working

It’s going to be a busy but genuinely exciting week. I’ve received a ton of feedback and I’m extremely grateful to everyone helping to break… I mean fix Morndale. Your testing is shaping the game every single day.
