Devblog 24 - QoL Week, Auction House, and More Explorations

Another week down, and honestly a pretty solid one. This was a very “quality of life” focused week - lots of cleanup, lots of layout fixes, and plenty of jumping around to tackle things that have been bugging me for a while.

I only spent about a day on Explorations, because most of my time went into reworking the Auction House. It’s not fully finished yet, but it’s finally in a state I feel comfortable pushing live for feedback. The old layout was so clunky that even I didn’t want to use it, so hopefully this redesign puts that era behind us.

I also started the first pass on rebuilding the Town layout. With quests expanding, having every NPC shoved into a tavern just wasn’t going to cut it. This is the beginning of a more “district‑based” structure that will make future content feel more natural and easier to navigate.

World Events are officially back as well. I spawned a bunch to kick things off, and they’ll settle into a smoother rhythm over time. I rebuilt the backend system to support custom loot and a few future features, and I’m hoping this helps stabilize guild region control. Next week I’ll be diving back into guilds to tighten that system up.

New

  • Auction House fully redesigned - new tabs, filters, search, and clearer level/skill requirements.
  • Town rebuilt into districts - Shops & Guilds, Tavern, Dungeons, Explorations.
  • World Events return - more gold, named bosses, custom loot.
  • Dungeons are now location‑based - travel to them to run them.
  • Bags now add inventory space - equip them via the equipment page or side panel.
  • Side Panel Equipment Tab - equip gear and tools directly from the side panel.
  • Riverside Explorations added - item drops coming soon.

Improvements

  • Tavern NPCs are now clickable and open their own pages.
  • NPCs are displayed directly on the Town page.
  • Explorations show their loot at a glance.

Fixes

  • Equipping/unequipping no longer throws a “Network error.”
  • Item level requirements now correctly show player level vs. tool skill.
  • Tavern quest progress tracks the correct character.
  • Various display and stability fixes.
  • Dungeon keys can now be bought/sold in the Auction House (106 items fixed).

Next Week’s Focus

Guilds

I want to get region control behaving properly, so I’ll likely force‑push the system early to see everything working on the live server. I also have some styling updates planned and a new settings page I’d like to roll out.

Explorations & Dungeons

The goal is to finish all Morndale region explorations and dungeons by next weekend.

Upgrade System

This one keeps getting pushed off, but I really want to start implementing dungeon gear upgrades. It’s overdue.
