Devblog 9 – Combat System, Stats overhaul, and Recipes

This was another big week of updates as the new combat system continues to settle in. With it came a brand‑new equipment page, which still has a few hiccups, but most of those should be ironed out over the coming week. We’ve also had a wave of new players join, bringing lots of great questions.

Community Questions This Week

  • Will there be a wipe? Yes — aiming for May 1st for what should be the final wipe.
  • Why don’t pets work properly? Pets were added quickly and need a revisit to update loot tables and fix stat bonuses.
  • How do I unlock pets? Pets were temporarily handed out for testing. Long‑term, they’ll be earned through achievements, dungeons, skills, and world events.
  • Will there be PvP? Yes, but not soon — other systems need attention first.
  • When will guild features be updated? The plan is to dedicate the last week of each month to guild improvements.
  • Will idle duration change? Probably not.

  • Equipment page has been fully overhauled
  • Character stats can now be reset
  • Hunting bug fixed (no longer yields whole animals)
  • Abandoning quests no longer deletes them
  • Skills page updated with sorting, grid view, and compact view
  • Skills page redesigned to be sleeker and more compact
  • Offline progress/item conversion bug fixed
  • Backend added to manage what each shopkeeper buys
  • Xarrus now buys equipment (armor & weapons)
  • Lydia now buys tools
  • Property requirements reduced from 250 planks → 100 planks
  • Equipment swapping bug fixed

Next Week’s Goals

The upcoming week will focus heavily on monster balancing and preparing dungeons for a relaunch. The new combat system will continue to receive tuning, so expect plenty of adjustments as things settle.
